Prepare to be mesmerized, entranced and changed. These caramelized pecans are perfectly crunchy and sweet, and so EASY TO MAKE!!
I will not rant in this post, in hopes of you getting some pecans, sugar and butter together and making this ASAP!!
Ingredients
- 1.5 TBS butter (I use salted butter, but regular butter is fine as well)
- A heaping 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- A scant cup of pecans
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Place butter and sugar in a nonstick skillet and turn the heat up to medium low.
- Once the butter is almost completely melted, quickly mix the sugar and butter and turn the heat to low.
- Add in the pecans and keep vigorously mixing for the next 2-3 minutes to ensure all pecans are coated with sugar and butter.
- As soon as you see the first inklings of caramel emerge in the skillet, mix for maybe 10 more seconds just to make sure everything is coated (in this time, all the rest of the butter and sugar will transform to caramel) and then IMMEDIATELY take off the heat and place the caramelized pecans on the baking sheet.
- Let cool for at least 15ish minutes before trying to break apart the caramel and devour the entire batch.
- Enjoy!!
